Ayah's new office and Adi's trip to KB

*First time doing email blogging from Ayah’s new office :D

It’s Ayah’s fourth day today at Exp*rian. Nowadays, since Ummi and Ayah are travelling separately to work, Ayah can go out little bit late than usual, like around 7 to 7.30 like that.

There’re plenty of routes to take to Cyberjaya, either LDP or Elite, even the kampung roads like Kg. Jln Kebun & Kg. Lombong (no tolls at all, wow! But the roads are damn worst conditions). With SKVE in free trials for July, Ayah just take Elite and then take SKVE to Cyberjaya. Pretty much 1-hour to get to office, which is much better than when Ayah was in Wangsa Maju, alhamdulillah. Insya Allah, once we move to Shah Alam next year, the distance will be much shorter.

So far everything’s good here. Parking lots are not that many in Cyberjaya. But since Ayah arrives early to work, Ayah just parked at the shop areas in front of the office. Worst come to worst, Ayah just park at the Park & ride, and take the free shuttle van to the office. Or walk the 1 km distance for 15 mins. Good for my lungs, I hope.

The new colleagues are nice, friendly, and accommodating. Ayah knows that an MNC like this is bound to have expats, but Ayah don’t expect to have these many expats. From Portugal, Iran, USA, India, Phillipines, to name a few. It’s kind of a new exposure to Ayah actually.

Enough about Ayah, how’s my big hero doing? Adi nowadays always, I mean always, climb up to stand, and like to tip-toe (is it a correct translation of “meniti”?) from bench to bench, like bed to the cabinet, desk to desk, chair to chair, like that. When Ayah or Ummi is sitting down, Adi also like to climb us up so that he can stand.

Meanwhile, Opah said Adi is sleeping less on daytime nowadays. Probably, it’s a part of growing up, huh? The front teeth is also started to show up even clearer, and they make up a nice addition to Adi’s adorable smile.

Last weekend, we went back to KB and met Tok Ayah, Mok, Nde Aida, and Abang Ariff. Adi seemed to be friendlier faster to them, compared to our home trip last May. The house is also introduced with Adi’s common “Tak Ada, Tak Ada” and loud shouts and tantrums. Beside that, Ayah noticed that whenever Abang Ariff around, Adi tends to stare at him, probably learning up what to do when he himself grow up :P

Ok, that’s all for now. This weekend, Opah and Atuk will held a kenduri doa selamat at Klang, and next weekend, there’ll be a kenduri tahlil at Tok Mun’s house at Kerling insya Allah. More faces for Adi to be familiar with, hehe.

Adi's love for food

Yesterday, Ummi had lunch with Ayah & Wan Cu at central market. [Menyibuk mode on] Om nom nom - Bunyi Ayah makan.[Menyibuk mode off]. Even though Ummi has been working at the same place as Wan Cu for about 3 months, this was actually the first time ummi met her. Also, this maybe the last time for Ummi and Ayah to have lunch together as Ayah will move to a new work place soon.

There were a lot of things that Ummi and Wan Cu talked about since we haven't meet each other for quite some time. Ummi asked Wan Cu about Adi's second cousin, Auntie Yan's son. Wan Cu said that he is now 6 month old and just started to eat solid.

This reminds Ummi on Adi's reaction when we first introduce him to solid. Mmg klaka. Even before Adi reach 6 months, he has shown his interest to eat. Tp tak dpt la nak bg mkn kan, we were afraid that is was still early for Adi. When Adi went for his 5 month old jap, Dr. Ho mentioned that we can now give Adi a bit of porridge a day just to get him ready for solid when he reach 6 months. So, about a week before Adi turn 6 months, we gave him his first porridge.

Mmg masa tu Adi tak saba sungguh la nak mkn. He really can't wait for Ummi to feed him until he actually bite the bowl. Mmg sgt la cute kan muka budak kalo tak sabar nak mkn. Kalo org dewasa yg buat gitu, camne rupenye eh?

Even until now, Adi's reaction towards food is still the same. He just love to eat. He can finish off a full bowl of porridge. Kalo org yg suapkan tu mcm slow nak suapkan, Adi mesti menjerit. Even if he just had his meal, he will shout for food  that others are eating. Alhamdulillah Adi's body is slim type mcm Ayah. Even he eats a lot, he is still small and slim. So tak dek la berat sgt nak dukung.

Ummi has been looking for the picture of Adi biting the bowl. Tak jumpe plak. Will ask Ayah if he saves it. Later will post if here.

Adi's teeth...coming soon

Alhamdulillah, Adi is 10 months now.

Yesterday we went to Selangor Specialist Hospital for Adi's injection. Haven't been there since Adi had his 7 months jap. Since then, we do not know how much Adi weighs and how tall he is until yesterday. So, now Adi weighs 7.64kg and 70cm tall. Tiggi la anak ummi. Tak berat sgt tak pe, asal sihat. Lagipun senang ummi ngan ayah nak dukung.

Adi's gum has harden  ever since he was 4 - 5 months. People have been saying his first teeth will come out soon. Tapi tak keluar2 pun. But that's all right. Maybe Adi has his own plan on when he wants his first teeth to show. Even though Adi tak dek gigi, Adi suka gurau2 dengan ummi by biting her. Kalo ummi bagi reaction sakit, Adi will laugh and gigit2 lagi. 2 days ago, ummi nampak kat gusi adi mcm ada kesan2 gigi nak tumbuh. So, beware ummi!! hihi...

Adi is very good at getting people's attention. He wants people to be around him when he play. The was one night on weekdays, where ummi had to do some chores before going to bed and ayah helped to look after Adi. Adi was crying so ayah and ummi thought Adi was sleepy. Ummi quickly finish her chores to join ayah in front of the TV while nursing Adi. When Adi saw both ayah and ummi are already with him in front of the TV, he stopped crying and continue playing happily. (Pandai tak anak ummi?)

Adi only wants to drink plain water from a glass. Dulu, bila bg Adi makan, ummi selalu bg Adi minum air masak dlm botol. Sbb kalo Ummi bg minum pakai sudu, nanti Adi main sembur2 air. Habis semua baju basah. Tapi skrg tak bole dah, adi tak nak air masak dlm botol. Kene bagi minum dlm gelas. Also, if he sees anyone drinking from glass, he would shout asking for a  drink too. Ada2 je la adi ni.

Agaknye lepas ni apa pulak trick yg adi pandai buat ye?

Ummi forward SMS tu kat Ayah. Tak keruan Ayah dan Ummi. Ummi tak dapat konsentret dalam meeting. Ayah pulak tak boleh konsentret nak surfing (takde keje sangat pun sejak dah tender notis resign :P).

Terus decide nak balik awal hari tu. Lepas meeting, Ummi terus balik. Ayah suggest Ummi solat Asar tepi jalan. [Solat tengah jalan karang, bahaya sebab kereta banyak :P] Turun kat LRT Setiawangsa, instead of Wangsa Maju.

Berhenti solat kat plaza tol Duke. Pastu, sambung driving. Alhamdulillah, jalan pun tak jem sangat. Sampai rumah pukul 7 gitu. Opah ada kat luar, kat depan rumah jiran, bersembang. Huh, mana Adi? Masuk dalam rumah, Adi ada dengan Ucu. Dok main- main riang ria Ribena macam biasa. Hoh, dok ingat demam ke, apa ke. Takde apa- apa pun, alhamdulillah. Agaknya Adi saja- saja tak nak minum sebab dia kenyang makan bubur kot. Opah selalu bagi memang semangkuk rabun. Adi pulak macam eating machine yang pakai Energizer tuh, asyik masuk, masuk, masuk dan terus masuk! Tu yang agaknya tak nak minum tu.

Haihh, lega Ayah dengan Ummi.

Lagi 3 hari lagi, Adi insya Allah genap 10 bulan. Cepat masa berlalu. Sekarang dah pandai hi-5. Kita angkat tunjuk telapak tangan kat dia, dia pun hi-5 kat kita pelan- pelan. Lepas tu, dah pandai main jelir- jelir lidah. Ni agaknya kesan selalu tengok Ayah gulung- gulung lidah depan dia. Vocab pun macam makin banyak. Ateh- ateh- ateh, Ayah, Ada, Tak Ada, Adi. Clingy pun bertambah kot, Ayah rasa la.

Ok deh, takat ni dulu. Wassalam.

thanks

2o June, yesterday, is the Father's Day.
21 June, today, is exactly 27 months since Ayah & Ummi tied our knots.

Thanks for the Father's Day card. I'm trying my best to be the best one, so in the meanwhile, do forgive me for all my shortcomings as a husband and a father.

Love you two.

The fat lady sings...

Selepas almost setahun kat S*pura, Ayah decided to move on to another company. Memang agak cepat, baru je join July tahun lepas.

Satu, dan the most important factor, I want to be there when Adi comes out to the world.

Tapi ditakdirkan, tak datang- datang pun bukaan tu. Cuti pun last- last habis.

Ayah tak sure Ayah can drive that long. Sejak balik dari US ni, tak pernah langsung drive jauh2. Paling jauh pun, Penang - Alor Setar. Pun Ayah tak berani amik risiko, buatnya Ayah lambat sampai, Ummi deliver tak lama lepas labour pain? So, Ayah decides, the best is to relocate to KL, at least the possibility is bigger to be at Ummi's side when she's delivering.

Dan banyak lagi faktor lain, macam nak pendekkan trip ke Labuan, instead of Penang - KL - Labuan, jadi KL - Labuan je. Dan jugak July tu ada ijtimak di Nilai, so just nice la Ayah resign and keluar jemaah before Ijtimak. Lepas ijtimak, terus report for duty.

Kat S*pura, Ayah had a shock, how to say, 'culture shock' lah kot.

**Disclaimer**
Ye lah, bukan nak kata blog ni ramai orang baca, tapi the Net is really a small world. Google crawler tu bila- bila je bole retrieve anything that is written in the websphere. So, kalau ada S*pura staff yang terbaca ni, take with a pinch of salt la, deh. I hope the company improves as the year goes.]
**End of disclaimer**

Moving from a MNC with decades years of maturity, to a local company that is still green in its area. (S*pura memang dah lama kat Malaysia, tapi subsidiary yang Ayah join tu, tak). Baru je ditubuhkan dalam couple of years. Proses banyak tak clearly defined. Bila proses banyak tak clearly define, execution lambat. Unnecessary layers of red tapes.

Ada yang dah give-up and just adapt and play along the flow. Antara excuses yang Ayah biasa dengar, the company is still young, lots of things need to be done. Betul la tu, I was not hoping that Rome is built in a day, but there are plenty of rooms to build the Rome faster, not at this pace.

Ayah jugak merasa perbezaan MNC where's Malays are minority (team Ayah dulu 1/4 je kot Malay), to a company where Malays are overwhelmingly majority (irony is, manager Ayah is a Chinese, hehe). Entah la, maybe its just me kot. Masa kat Penang, Malay tak ramai, hubungan sesama Melayu ni rapat, tapi bila syarikat banyak Melayu ni, macam longgar sikit. Again, maybe Ayah je kot, yang tak open up, and still dalam bayang- bayang syarikat lama.

Internal factors, external factors, etcetc. Compile all of them, Ayah decides to start job hunting again.

However, I have to admit, the company that I joined last July, dah banyak different at this July. There is a ray of hope. Ada cahaya di hujung terowong. And as fated by joining it, I was able to hold Ummi's hands in the labour room. To hear Adi crying at the first time. To see Adi staring at me while I gave out azan.

So, why not stay?

1. Going back to MNC. Looking at experience, maybe Ayah survives better in MNC kot. Doa la, Ameen.

2. Closer to home (Cyberjaya, yeay!). Our early hunch that software/IT people like Ayah, usually will find his next bowl of rice at Cyberjaya turns out to be true. That's one of the reason we bought a house at middle areas of Klang Valley, instead of northern (macam Gombak), or southern (macam Puchong). Tiada lagi daily trip sejauh Wangsa Maju, merentas KL.

3. 9 am to 5.30 am. Hopefully, can see Adi more in the morning, and can see Adi early in the evening. At least, Ummi and Ayah can look forward to have either of us at home earlier to assist Opah in taking care of Adi.

4. Permanent position. S*pura punye, kontrak 3 tahun. Lepas tu, upon renewal. Tapi, bila dah permanent, notis nak resign jadi 3 bulan la. But then again, dalam IT world, memang tu standard pun.

5. Ummi got to drive herself. Kesian Ummi sekarang ni, kena naik public transport. Selalu delay and unreliable. Memang la lepas ni we'll miss going to office together macam sekarang, and having evening tea dalam keta masa traffic jam petang- petang. Tapi Ayah rasa, lebih selesa bagi Ummi dapat drive sendiri, walaupun kena bayar parking and tol, tapi at least Ummi got more control. Ayah still rasa stucked in jam dalam aircond keta, is better than waiting for Komuter yang tak kunjung tiba, in a station packed like sardin. Kalau reliable, takpe jugak. Ni asyik problem je. NKRA konon.

Harap- harapnya biar lagi lama dari M*torola. Harap- harap Ayah happy kerja baru nanti. Harap- harap biar sampai Ayah habis sambung belajar part- time. Ameen.
